In order to gain a better insight into how the community around the school in Som Roung, Peter Downey, our current SCOOP Development Officer in Cambodia, created a household survey that can be carried out by Cambodian and International volunteers, to determine what the villages REALLY need.
From the survey we determined they come from a variety of different occupations, living conditions and levels of income.
Results from the survey highlighted three important issues that affected the lives of the people in the community.
* Access to clean and safe drinking water
* Access to toilet facilities
* Access to healthcare
With this new information gathered Peter and the team at SCAO began to communicate with other NGOs in Cambodia who specialise in these particular areas.
Support us today so we can reach out to more villages and more families.
